Stronger and better hair for all hair types

I always used to think oh look at their hair, I wish mine was like that, and I never realized about how many people had the same thought. Those people whose hair looks so good don’t just have good hair and put no effort, just like skin and everything else, your hair needs to be looked after. So here are as many tips I could fit into this blog for better hair, and it is for both genders mostly.

In the shower tips

You produce natural oils, which keeps your hair nourished so you should only wash your hair 2 to 3 times a week really.

Shampoo

This is actually something very common, however, I still find people make the mistake of putting shampoo all over their hair and not just the scalp. The reason you should only put shampoo on the scalp is because the scalp gets very oily, so it is the scalp that needs the most attention. The ends on the other hand, get very dry and do not get that dirty so when washing the shampoo you should spread it on the ends, but not put the shampoo directly onto the ends.

In addition to this be careful not to overuse shampoo as that will only remove our natural oils, which will do more harm than good.

Conditioner

Conditioners should be used in exactly the opposite way to shampoo: put it on the ends and not the roots. This is due to the same reason you should not put shampoo on the ends and you should on the roots; the roots are oily and the ends are dry. Conditioner allows your hair to become moisturized, however, the roots will only become oily if conditioner is applied, as the scalp produces natural oils. You should apply conditioner to your mid lengths to ends, as those are the most beneficial places to apply it.

Hair Scalp Shampoo Brush

The main benefit of using a hair shampoo brush is that it makes sure your hair is completely clean. This is especially good for hair that is oily, as the reason for this oiliness is because we produce too much sebum, and whilst some of that oil is needed for our hair too much is never good. Using the hair shampoo brush will make sure your hair is clean and is much better than using our hands.

The brush also massages our scalp. This means it increases circulation, which then leads to our hair being nourished. The massaging also helps us relax after a long day!

Before shower

Hair masks

Hair masks are so amazing because there is a hair mask out there no matter the type of hair. Below I have listed DIY hair masks for different types of hair, but you can always buy one as well.

Dry hair

Two teaspoons aloe vera (fresh) + one teaspoon honey + three teaspoon coconut oil

Keep the mask on for half an hour. If you do not have coconut oil then you can easily replace it with olive oil, however, if you do this put three teaspoons of aloe vera and 1 teaspoon olive oil. This mask also helps to get rid of dandruff.

Ripe bananas + avocado + coconut oil

Keep the mask on for an hour.

Oily hair

Three tablespoons aloe vera + one teaspoon lemon

One big tomato + one tablespoon water

Keep the masks on for an hour and apply once or twice a week.

Frizzy hair

Ripe avocado + five tablespoons yogurt

Keep it on for 45 minutes and apply it twice a week.

Three teaspoons aloe vera + two teaspoon yogurt + one teaspoon honey + one teaspoon olive oil

Keep it on for an hour and apply once a week.

I have included aloe vera in all the masks as aloe vera is one of the best things for your hair, and works for all hair types. It allows you hair to be silky, as it is a natural conditioner, and has healing properties to it as well. The most unique one of its properties is that it promotes hair growth, with hair growing stronger and fresh. On top of all of these points, it reduces dandruff and itching.

Hair oil

Using hair oil will actually reduce the oil in your hair already if it is too oily, after you wash it off. Of course do not put too much on, but based on the thickness of your hair apply enough to the scalp. Massage it in for ten minutes, and it is actually quite important to massage it. Massaging it in will stimulate blood circulation to the scalp and help bring nutrients, which then nourishes the hair. Keep it for about one or two hours before showering to ensure that it does its job. If you want you can wrap your hair with a cloth or scarf.

After Shower

Drying Hair

Something that too many people do is dry their hair with a rough towel. When drying your air you should only use a cotton towel or cloth. When your hair is wet it is in a very delicate state, and while it is important to remove the extra water, you have to do this gently. Honestly if you ask me if your towel is not made of cotton then you should throw it out because a cotton towel benefits the skin as well as hair. Other towels are too rough for both hair and skin, especially at such a fragile state.

Personally I do not use a hair dryer as the heat can damage hair, however, if you do then only use it when your hair has air dried 80%.

Combing Hair

The type of bush is extremely important when your hair is wet. The two types I would recommend is a wet brush and a wide toothed comb. The wet brush is better if you get a lot of tangles, as it untangles our hair but does not damage it.

Not only is the type of brush important, but also how you comb your hair. Start at the ends, and work your way up. You do not want to be pulling you hair too much when your hair is so delicate, so make sure you get rid of all the tangles from the bottom, and by the time you get to the scalp you should not have any tangles.

Daily Tips

Combing Hair

Combing your hair whilst it is dry is just as important as when it is wet. Using a wide toothed comb or a boar bristle brush are good choices, however, unlike the comb you should not use the boar bristle brush for wet hair as that will damage it. When combing your hair do the exact opposite as you would so on wet hair. Start from the scalp and comb down. This will stop your hair from frizzing too much and distributes the oils across your hair, nourishing it.

During Sleep

You should always tie your hair when sleeping, as there will be breakage if you leave it down. The best way to tie it is in a high loose bun, and to get curls and more volume you can twist your hair and then tie it.

When you sleep, it is best to use a silk pillowcase. This is very soft on you hair and avoids breakage, hydrates the hair and reduces frizz in the morning. A cheaper alternative is satin, but silk is more beneficial.

This was quite a long blog, but I hope that you guys incorporate some of these tips into your lives and see results, however, you will not see immediate results so be patient!
